Graduates Fashion Catwalk and Exhibition

(Video of Catwalk Show uploaded below)

Above are some of the pictures that I took at the exhibition just right outside the fashion catwalk show. There was a variety of different styles and interesting materials used. I was highly motivated to explore and develop my work at the existing stage after looking at other student’s work because they were impressive.

I have attended both the Fashion Knitwear Design Catwalk show and the Fashion Design Catwalk show. Both of them were absolutely inspiring and sensational. The music they use relates to the garments and the vibe that they want to portray and it is really enjoyable to watch. The fabrics that they used and some of the structures were so three dimensional I just really wanted to touch it. There are some ideas that I took away when I was watching the show, and I could not decide which show I liked better.

2 of the clips in this video were from my classmate Jennifer as she had a better view of the catwalk show

I have compiled the mini clips that I took and uploaded them into YouTube so that I could share it on this blog and anyone who might chance upon my blog could enjoy it as well. I am honestly very impressed with the collections, especially when sustainability and other aspects of fashion is considered. There was a 100% cruelty free collection, a sizeless collection, a collection made out of 100% end of roll fabric, adaptive clothing collection, textile processes re-using Tibetan bags collection, and a 90% recycled military wear collection. The colours that were used really went well with each other even though some of them were clashing. I really liked how the theme of the garments were translated through the designs and the choice of songs that they used when the models were walking in the show.
