Reflection of week 3 and 4

So far, I have been to some shops to look at how they display their garments and I did one blog post on one of the shops that I have been to, it is under the Vivienne Westwood post. I learnt pretty much in terms the designs of the high end products and how they portray the brand. I did a post on the things that I have learnt and what attracted me in the shop. I actually found out that the brand has ethical aspects and the latest collections were really interesting to look at. The staff were so friendly and he showed us some of the really cool pieces from the latest collections.

I also have been to some galleries to take a look at the latest galleries to pick up some inspiration that I could use to proceed on my sketch book pages. Similarly, I did a post on the Bonington Gallery’s latest exhibition and found some ideas that could be put into my process in the sketch book pages and/or my final outcomes.

Overall, for these two weeks I was stuck on what I should do next as the concept was unclear and I struggled to draw up anything at all. I tried to start experimenting with different materials in the concept pages as my main inspirations came from renaissance paintings and gothic architecture. I realised that both of them have one thing in common after doing up a few concept page; they both are really gothic and I could draw some material inspiration from the way the subjects of the paintings are portrayed in it and use it to further experiment to build up more concept pages. I would continue to work with materials as I felt like it would be easier to do rather than collaging random things that might not work or serve any progress towards my final outcomes.
